In response to the letter from Charles Henry about the skin test for cattle (Your Say, April 20), he has got his information wrong about bovine TB.
The skin test for cattle is only 80 per cent effective, which allows 20 per cent of diseased cows to slip through the net and spread the disease on to other animals. The Gamma Interferon blood test for cattle was used in Northern Ireland, where it has got rid of bovine TB without badger culling.See the full content of this document
