Summary
Well, at least we will be spared the spectacle of Welsh fans clutching giant plastic daffs this St David's Day, as their next match in the Six Nations is next weekend. But there are already masses of real daffodils well in flower everywhere you look.
Are they earlier this year? Well I'm not sure, but every year I get calls from gardeners saying their daffs are in flower in December and it must be down to global warming. Well the important thing to remember is that there are some daff varieties that really do flower very early. For more than 30 years there has been Rijnsveld's Early Sensation, which produces blooms before Christmas on a farm near Bristol Airport.See the full content of this document
