Rumours abound this week that there are plans for a National Trust Walking Festival in autumn 2011.

"It'll probably take place during October half-term but it's still in the early planning stages," according to a source at the trust. "Lots of people know the house and garden side of the National Trust but we want to introduce them to the coast and country too. Our downloadable walks have already proved really popular.
