Summary
Hospitals face readmission fines - sounds great doesn't it? If they are failing to do their job, fine them, that will make them pull their socks up!
But can someone explain where the money comes from to pay these fines? Surely, if a hospital loses funding to the value of these fines, it has two choices. Either to cut back the services offered or to apply for further funding (indirectly from us) so it can perform its function. But then, the coalition government says that it will not starve the NHS of funds.See the full content of this document
