Summary
Two employees of West helicopter firm AgustaWestland have won Afghanistan Campaign Medals for their support work with RAF Merlin helicopters at Camp Bastion. Mike Sheppard, based at Yeovil, and Chris Ferguson, who is based at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose in Cornwall, spent three months working with the RAF, and living in a tent during the bitterly cold Afghan winter, as the AW101 Merlin Mk3s spent their first few months in the harsh environment.
Mr Sheppard, 45, an avionics expert, works in AgustaWestland's Field Service Department, based at the company's headquarters in Yeovil. Mr Ferguson, a former RAF engineer, works for the Integrated Merlin operational support on-site support team, which is based at RNAS Culdrose.See the full content of this document
