Summary


Buzzards wheeling, ponies grazing, sunken tracks and widespread Somerset views are on offer on this moderate circle in the south- eastern part of the Quantocks. Try and choose a sunny, clear day. There are uphills - rewarded by views - several stiles and there is one forest track/bridleway where you are likely to encounter mud after rain. So take good boots and expect to get them dirty! Some dogs may find difficulty over one or two of the stiles. You are exposed up on the hill so go well prepared. Start and end at a great Quantock pub.

Start Cross the road from the pub and opposite the junction take the stile into a NT field, part of Broomfield Hill. You can as an alternative go up the track which is a few yards to the right of the stile but you are rather enclosed. So, once in the field, go up the right edge. Half way up, cross right over a stile onto the track and turn left in the same direction as before still going up. Go through a gate at the end into beech woodland.
