Any attempts to return to huge EU cash subsidies for the crisis- hit dairy sector would be challenged, according to East Anglian MEP Robert Sturdy this week.

European dairy farmers are to be given help by the European Commission to the tune of Pounds 255 million in aid to cope with the slide in milk prices, but Mr Sturdy claims it is not the time to go back to subsidies as a way out.
