I Have read that some teachers have discipline problems, particularly in certain inner-city schools. They can even suffer verbal and physical abuse.
Remembering my school days in the 1940s in a garrison school on Salisbury Plain, the headmistress, a Mrs Harrison, who taught the older children, was severe in appearance and fairly free with the cane for the boys (in those days young girls could do no wrong in the teachers' eyes).See the full content of this document
