Vendors See Hopes Realised

Summary

Morgan Beddoe's March auction was held on Wednesday evening at The Garden Rooms, Clifton Zoo.

Of the eleven lots which were offered on the night, much speculation was centred around the first and last since the outset of marketing. Lot 1, a mid terrace house on the ever-popular Cowper Road in Redland, offered accommodation on three floors and a garden to the rear. The two bedroom basement has been completely stripped out and is ready for a full-bodied refurbishment, and the three bedroom maisonette above requires some modernisation. The house has been in the same family ownership for many years and with a guide price of Pounds 250,000, slightly ahead of the agreed reserve, the vendors were delighted when the hammer fell and confirmed a sale of Pounds 295,000. The final lot to go under the hammer was a large semi-detached property on Westbury Road. During a time where there is a lack of substantial property, this was regarded as a Westbury gem. With a guide price of Pounds 430,000 - also slightly in excess of the reserve - the vendors were delighted when the bidding exceeded the Pounds 500,000 mark. The eventual sale price was Pounds 505,000.
