If the way to someone's heart is through their stomach, then take your loved one to Provence. The food is plentiful and delicious... and the wine is to die for. What's more, it is just a train ride away.

Our trip got off to a wonderful start with an overnight stay at Malmaison London, close to Farringdon Station. If the atmosphere of twilight Charterhouse Square doesn't win you over, then the sumptuous rooms with luxury facilities certainly will. The colour scheme of burgundy and black was warm and inviting, and the hotel seeps aromatic oils, making for a very relaxing stay.
