A toddler drowned in the pool of her grandfather's luxury holiday home in Cyprus - after escaping the attention of her family as they prepared dinner, an inquest heard yesterday.

Rosie Bastin, two, died after she fell into the pool at granddad Glen Rawlings' villa in an exclusive development in northern Cyprus. Rosie's horrified father Mark tried to revive her after he found her floating in the two-metre deep swimming pool at around 6pm on July 7 last year. Her devastated mother Naomi Bayldon rushed Rosie from the villa in Bahceli to the Lefkosa State Hospital nearby, but medics were unable to save her.
