The town of Wootton Bassett fell silent again yesterday to mark another fallen soldier's repatriation, as news came through of three paratroopers killed on a special forces mission in Afghanistan.

The lone soldier whose body was flown into RAF Lyneham and driven to Oxford was Anthony Lombardi, a 21-year-old craftsman with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
