Since the hunting ban deer numbers have remained pretty static on Exmoor. Thanks to a steady local demand for venison, farmers have been able to shoot a few deer every year to supplement their income.
But things are getting dramatically out of hand with alarming reports emerging of large numbers of stags being taken out indiscriminately to supply a soaring consumer demand for a newlyfashionable meat.
