I Am sure many Western Daily Press readers recall Shirley Nolan, mentioned in the paper recently.
She was the founder of the Anthony Nolan Trust, Anthony being her child, whose only chance of living longer was a bone marrow transplant. No donor could be found and no register of volunteers then existed. Shirley started one. Anthony never found a donor and died in 1979. But many others did.See the full content of this document
