Summary


I have no sympathy for those publicly (though, interestingly enough, anonymously) beating their chests and bewailing the plight of the red deer which roam Exmoor and the Quantocks.

The latest incidence of shroud-waving has been attributed to a "veteran hunt follower" who suggests the Quantock staghounds may be forced to stop even the "exempt" hunting they now practice because there will be too few deer to pursue.
