Business Secretary Vince Cable put himself on collision course with unions yesterday by pressing ahead with controversial plans to privatise the Royal Mail.
The Government is now drawing up plans to publish legislation this autumn to sell off a stake in the business which it claims faces "potentially lethal challenges".
