Summary
We were off on a holiday with the in-laws. I'm the outsider on these gatherings and occasionally feel it.
I imagined leaving early in an efficient and orderly manner, but at pick-up time on Friday a wave of giggling children burst from the school and swept us along in a joyous rush towards the small, grubby park they all love. How could I be so churlish as to cloud their joy with pragmatic nonsense about packing? So, with my apprehensions about the week and the chaos of departure, it was something of a surprise to have a fabulous week.
