Prison guards shot into a crowd to stop 200 rioting inmates at California's Folsom State Prison, wounding five, authorities said.

Lieutenant Anthony Gentile said guards opened fire after chemical agents and several rounds of rubber bullets failed to stop Friday's 30-minute riot. None of the inmates had life-threatening injuries, he added.
