LAWRENCES At Lawrences' recent sale of pictures and furniture on the final day of the Crewkerne firm's Pounds 1 million spring auction, there was keen bidding on a collection of etchings of dogs by Herbert Dicksee (ten realised Pounds 4,970) and a similarly good collection of etchings by Charles Tunnicliffe (14 made just under Pounds 7,900) whilst a folio of 13 prints of rural crafts by Harry Becker took Pounds 4,060.
Three fine watercolours of peregrine falcons by George Edward Lodge made Pounds 9,900 and an interesting folio of works from the 1770s by The Hon Charles Gore, comprising views as varied as Cornwall and Gibraltar, made Pounds 6,450 with the proceeds going to The National Maritime Museum.See the full content of this document
