Why does the Western Daily Press keep publishing letters from the badger cull lobby? The Government's study showed that far from eradicating bovine TB, indiscriminate culling would be counter productive. Killing healthy badgers would leave setts vacant to be occupied by infected animals, thereby spreading the disease to previously TB free farms.

Surely the way to tackle TB in badgers is to cull only in setts where TB exists and then to test that new occupants are disease free. The mindless mass slaughter advocates - notably represented by your own Mr Rundle - would only make matters worse.
