Paramedics are well known for using bikes, cars, ambulances and helicopters to get help to stricken patients - but an injured cyclist was rushed to hospital near Bath on board a steam train.

Ambulance crews commandeered the vintage train on the Avon Valley Railway, after realising they would have to walk two miles to the nearest road with a patient who had potentially serious spinal injuries.
