Elliot Ryan, who posed as a cheery Victorian paperboy on Gold Hill, Shaftesbury, to help the Western Daily Press celebrate its 150th anniversary, is used to public performances.

Elliot, nine, of Higher Odcombe, near Yeovil, is a member of Somerset School of Performing Arts, run by Helen Laxton. He appeared as Flash Gordon in its production of Everybody Dance at the Octagon Theatre, Yeovil last year, as well as other shows at Digby Hall, Sherborne. He has also performed stand-up comedy at his school, All Saints Church of England Primary, Montacute.
