OUR VIEW Celebrating the West the way it used to be Today's archive picture shows a regatta taking place at Bradford-on-Avon marina in 1988. The digging of the Kennet and Avon canal, on which the marina is sited, was started in Bradford in 1794. Now fully restored from Bath to Reading, where it meets the River Thames, the canal celebrates its bi-centennial next year.
