An employee who left Gloucestershire County Council was paid for nine months after leaving the organisation after a 'ridiculous' bureaucratic blunder. The member of staff was one of 140 people who continued to receive a total of nearly Pounds 85,000 in the last financial year despite having ceased to work for the authority. Last night campaigners, business figures and a councillor called for action to reform Shire Hall's pay system.
