A West MP braved yesterday's heavy rain to join a group of angry parents and children about to be left behind by a free school bus.

Chippenham MP Duncan Hames joined parents and youngsters who are due to start at the new Melksham Oak secondary school in Wiltshire next week - but now live just yards inside the three-mile radius which would entitle them to free school transport.
