Summary
The average male Adelie penguin has a tough life. Every year he has to take the plunge with thousands of his contemporaries for the 6,000-mile swim back to his hereditary Antarctic breeding ground.
Then he has to build the finest stony nest a female penguin could desire, making sure he betters the efforts of his rivals to be sure of winning the girl.
