A head teacher at a school where a member of staff sexually abused a series of young children has left his post.

Hillside First School teacher Nigel Leat was jailed indefinitely earlier this year after it was discovered the 52-year-old had filmed himself sexually assaulting pupils as young as six in the classroom. Chris Hood, head teacher at the school in Worle when Leat was committing his horrific crimes, was suspended in January pending a disciplinary inquiry and this week North Somerset can confirm that following a disciplinary process Chris Hood is no longer the head at Hillside school. David Amos will continue as interim headteacher while the governors recruit a new head teacher for the school."
