Green Spaces Not Worth Using for Debt ; Letters

Summary

Regarding the news that Bristol City Council have laid out proposals to sell off 62 acres of public green open spaces around Bristol, stating that the money raised from the sale will be invested in our existing green parks - just who are they hoping to convince? It has now been clear after reading that the city council has a debt that went up last year to Pounds 49 million. So by selling off green spaces for houses to be built, they will have enough to pay of the huge debt.

I am sure most Bristolians would prefer to have the green spaces left than having had Pounds 26m spent on M Shed Museum, and the Pounds 20m on the entrance to the Colston Hall.
