T his lovely, low-ceilinged hostelry is a jewel in the crown of Wiltshire eateries. La Flambe is a friendly, warm and scenic corner to while away an afternoon of gluttony, which can then be walked off with a full-bellied stroll along country lanes afterwards.

On entering it seems caught in a no-man's land between traditional pub and modern restaurant with a French twist but with all the historic charm of a building that has been sympathetically renovated.
