A West MP has called for money to be made available to restore Somerset's neglected orchards.
Ian Liddell-Grainger, chairman of the Parliamentary cider committee, says an important part of the county's rural heritage cannot be left to decline. His intervention follows the revelation at the Royal Bath and West Show that 60 per cent of the county's orchards are in poor condition, the result of years of neglect and under-investment.
