A Few Solutions for Britain in 2012 ; Letters

Summary

Can I add my comments to Dr Eleanor Jackson's letter which I wholly agree with ("Uncomfortable by PM's Bible comment," Western Daily Press, Christmas Eve) Anyone with any common sense (which, incidentally, our Prime Minister and MPs do not seem to have any) the answers to our social problems could easily be solved as follows: Rough sleepers, councils should be able to requisition empty properties including empty offices which have been empty for more than two years and be used as temporary accommodation. This country desperately needs hostel accommodation for people moving around the country looking for work. Single parent mothers could also have their own hostel where they could have the right support to enable them to get back into society. Bored teenagers, change the employment laws so that maternity leave is abolished. Mums should be home with their children - not trying to hold down a job and run a home. If career woman want to carry on with their careers then pay for a housekeeper or nanny out of their salaries. Employers should not have to hold their jobs open for such a length of time that is keeping someone else out of a job. The tax credit situation should be revised to support a two-parent family. There would be more jobs for young people and less stress between couples who have to juggle job and home life. How can young people get experience to do a job if they can't get a job in the beginning? Single parent mothers and pensioners in fuel poverty; nationalise the utilities so that the Government can regain control of the utilities profits and services.

Every national company should have a local office where people can go and speak to a real person with their problems. If you have a car break down the companies can only come and rescue you if you know the postcode of where you have broken down. Also it would mean that pensioners could pay their bills locally and not have to pay extra to be on the inter net.
