These beans were sown early indoors, with the tomato seed, just in case the weather looked fair by the time they were ready to go. Sometimes, it's worth a gamble.
These earliest of beans have got a privileged position, well sheltered, and close enough to the front door that they will be regularly scrutinised for slug and snail attack. All being well, they will provide lovely fresh and non-stringy young bean pods a little ahead of the game.
