Summary
I joined the other historyloving people of Frome to see the display of Roman coins found by Dave Crisp.
There were a few hundred of the 52,503 hoard on display. Shuffling along the table I saw a small pile of copper coins of father and son Tetricus I and II who ruled in 270-273AD during which time the Gallo-Roman empire declined when Aurguan invaded Gaul in 273AD. Tetricus I and II surrendered to him. He spared both their lives, a remarkable result in those bloody times.See the full content of this document
