Summary
Roy Young, who has died at the age of 77, was born and bred in Nailsea and attended the town's Old Church School before going to Clevedon Secondary Modern when he was 11. He took up an apprenticeship with a Clevedon firm after leaving school, travelling from Bishopsworth every day.
He did National Service with the RAF and served in Singapore, Sri Lanka and Malaya. On his return to England, he took a job with Bray and Slaughter's in Parson Street, Bedminster, and met Rita, his wife, while she was working in a chemist's in Headley Park.See the full content of this document
