Fall in Inflation Affects Train Ticket Prices

Inflation figures released yesterday mean price cuts for rail season ticketholders in the new year but may be bad news for other train travellers.

The Retail Prices Index (RPI), the measure of inflation used to calculate many rail fares, showed that prices dropped by an average of 1.4 per cent in July according to the Office for National Statistics.
