Summary
Thousands of visitors are expected through the gates of historic Highnam Court near Gloucester this weekend for its Spring Fair. The popular two-day event, run in aid of three local charities, is a family day out with entertainment, crafts, stalls and children's events. Last year the fair attracted 5,000 visitors and raised more than Pounds 30,000 for The Pied Piper Appeal, Gloucester Cathedral and the NSPCC. As well as the plant and craft stalls, there is also a medieval village, stone and wood carving, a floral marquee, classic cars and a dedicated children's tent, with craft activities, a treasure hunt and toddlers' corner. The fair runs on both days from 10.30am to 5pm and tickets cost Pounds 5 in advance or Pounds 6 on the gates, while children under 12 go free.
