has reported, Criminals and terrorists must be defeated in cyber- space without destroying everything that is good about the internet, David Cameron said yesterday.

The Prime Minister said the Government was leading the way with a Pounds 650 million plan to improve cyber defences - led by Cheltenham-based eavesdropping centre GCHQ. He was addressing a special summit in London, with representatives of 60 nations gathering in a bid to secure the benefits of the internet amid concern about rising levels of cyber attacks and online crime. The PM said the internet was a force for economic, social and political good, and had profoundly changed economies, creating twice as many jobs as it destroyed.
