Clean Up Diseases Now, Says Vets' President

Concerted action is needed now to eliminate two key diseases which are affecting pig production and cutting producers' returns, according to the new leader of Britain's specialist pig vets.

Jill Thomson has signalled assuming the presidency of the 330- member Pig Veterinary Society (PVS) by calling for measures to tackle and eliminate enzootic pneumonia and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, or PRRS.
