Summary
The clocks have gone back, it's grey, wet and miserable and there are some weeks to go before we can get into the Christmas spirit.
But in Somerset, at least, all this was forgotten last night with the annual Bridgwater Carnival, heralding the start of the Guy Fawkes circuit, when six towns and the city of Wells are lit up with the spectacle.
