Bid to Change School Entry Rules

Summary


Parents are lobbying for a change in admission rules in schools in an area of the West to prevent brothers and sisters being split up.

At one school in South Gloucestershire, a number of families whose older children are current pupils have been told their younger siblings will have to go to a different school because there is no room for them. They have been caught by the rule that says only families living within two miles of a school get extra priority for having children already there.
