I Write with reference to an excellent letter from Helen Capel (Your Say, 12 Sept).

I have written to the BBC about background music on programmes where the spoken word is vital. I am very deaf, with hearing aids, and I have a top-range loop system, but all I hear is the background music and not much of the spoken word. Seven out of 10 people have a hearing problem.
