Summary
As the boat pulled away from the quay there were squeals of excitement from the four girls on the starboard side. A bottle- nosed dolphin had surfaced right next to the craft, almost within touching distance, its dorsal fin slicing the foam, and then it had speared under the surface, driven forward by the powerful thrusts of its tail.
I am always astonished by the reaction people, including myself, have to sea mammals. You might be thrilled to see a red deer, a badger, a pine marten or a dormouse but you would never whoop with sheer exuberance at the experience.See the full content of this document
