Afghanistan -Hundreds of heavily armoured vehicles are on their way to Afghanistan but there will still not be enough for the UK force of 9,000 troops, senior Ministry of Defence officials have said.

Brigadier Kevin Abraham, the head of joint capability, said enough new vehicles, including the heavily-armoured Cougar Mastiff and the Snatch Vixen Plus, to serve 8,100 troops, would be in place by spring 2010.
