A court has heard how a widow felt she was locked in a room against her will by her bank manager after seeking help with overdraft charges.
Christopher Hicks locked Josephine Lewis, 59, in a room for half an hour despite her screams of "let me out", Swindon County Court heard. Mrs Lewis, who won a Pounds 2,000 damages payout, said the bank manager, who is still in charge of the HSBC branch in Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, blocked her exit until she filled out a form detailing her spending. She was only released when other staff heard her cries. She said HSBC then bombarded her with hundreds of phone calls - which the presiding judge described as "abusive and threatening" - over an 18-month period.See the full content of this document
